Why Does My Email Go To the Bulk Mail Folder

Most email providers have 2 systems to screen inbound emails.

#1: make sure you hae

A) reverse dns configured to the name of your mail server (you can put in a ticket to request this if you have not already)
B) yuo have to have matching forwrad dns “A” records for the mail server that matches your ip
C) you want to configure both SPF and DOMAIN KEY dns records for your domain, if you have cPanel installed as your server control panel you can follow our step by step setup guide http://secure.dreamlineit.com/clients/knowledgebase.php

That will give your emails the best ‘finger print’ results with email proviers to not go into the bulk mail box

#2: SENDER REPUTATION: all ip addresses are now screened and scoored for reputation. This means that over the course of 60 to 90 days of every new ip that starts sending emails, that providers will slowly start to give you a reputation scoore (good or bad). For the first 60 to 90 days your score is usually poor or neutral (meaning your email is not yet trusted and likely go to the bulk mail box). This is a measure against spammers who ‘change providers’ so often to try to keep getting new ip addresses, to sneak past IP blacklistings. So if you are new to your server with us, that means your IP is brand new and slowly will increase it’s reputation score after the first 30 days. Make sure to do step #1 above early in your first 30 days, so your reputation is as good as possible over time.
