How to setup Dreamweaver
In order to configure Dreamweaver for uploading your files please do the following:
- Click on Site at main menu bar and select New Site
- Put some site name (for example my_web-site) and select Local Site Folder where web-pages will be stored on your PC
- Then click on New server at Servers section and put the following settings:
Server name: the server hostname your account is located on
Connect using: FTP or SFTP if you wish to use secure connection
FTP Address: server name or server IP address
Port: 21 for FTP or 21098 for SFTP
Username: your cPanel or FTP account username (With SFTP connection it is possible to use only cPanel login details).
Password: your cPanel or FTP account password
Root Directory: /public_html (for cPanel account) or /public_html/ftp_account_path (for FTP account)
Web URL: http://your_domain_name
- Now you can create your web-pages. Once it is done you can upload them on the server this way: find Files window and click on Put file(s) button:
