How do I connect to my Linux server without using a control panel?
SSH is the most common way to connect to a Linux/FreeBSD server. If you are trying to access your server from a Windows computer you may need to install a 3rd party SSH client program. If you do not have one installed, you may download this free SSH client program by clicking here ftp://ftp.ssh.com/pub/ssh/SSHSecureShellClient-3.2.9.exe. After installation, follow these few steps to connect to your server:
1. Open the program and click on File -> ‘Quick Connect…’
2. Type in your server’s IP address and the username ‘root’
3. Click ‘connect’
4. Enter your password when prompted
5. Click the ‘OK’ button to connect.
