How do I configure and add IP addresses to my Windows Dedicated Server ?

The following article explains how to add an additional IP address to your Windows server. Before you can add an additional IP address you must contact us to request the additional IP address(es). We will supply you with the IP address(es) which you can then add to your machine. If you prefer we can add the IP address(es) to your machine for you.

To add additional IP addresses to your Windows server, please follow these steps:

1. Go to Start->Control Panel->Network Connects
2. Right click on the network interface you wish to add the IP’s to (normally Lan 1) and select Properties.
3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Click Add under the IP Address section (top) , enter the IP address and corresponding Subnet mask.

The subnet mask should have been supplied to you, but for referernce, should be:

255.255.255.248 if you have a 8 IP block
255.255.255.240 if you have a 16 IP block
255.255.255.224 if you have a 32 IP block
255.255.255.192 if you have a 64 IP block
255.255.255.128 if you have a 128 IP block

6.Click Add.

If you wish to add more IP addresses, repeat steps 5. and 6. until you have added the IP addresses we assigned to you.
